Created by the Massachusetts Department of Health and Human Services, the site has links that provide an overview, definition, and warning signs for child abuse and neglect.

 What Is Child Abuse and Neglect? Recognizing the Signs and Symptoms.
Here you will find a factsheet that "...outlines the legal definition of child abuse and neglect, the different types of abuse and neglect, and the signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect. Resources about the impact of trauma on well-being also are included."
This collaborative project was done by the Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and Families, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

All Children Deserve #Great Childhoods - Prevent Child Abuse America is a non-profit organization works to promote the healthy development of children and prevent child abuse before it can occur in order to help children to grow up and contribute in their communities. Click on their Blog and Resources links for information.

Understanding and Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect - the American Psychological Society (APA) defines the problem and offers links to consequences, factors, and sources.

Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention - created by the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC). Their research and programs work to understand the problem of child abuse and neglect and prevent them before they begin.

Child Maltreatment - the World Health Organization (WHO) offers these fact sheets that help to define this world-wide problem
