SHS Community Summer Reading 2020

Picture
After this extraordinary school year, summer break is here!  Finally, time to relax, have fun with family and friends - practicing safe social distancing, of course - and read! The Salem High School recommended summer reading program is designed to keep our learning community engaged in meaningful and enjoyable reading throughout the summer. Title choices for all SHS students can be found here. All students, teachers, and staff members are invited to our second annual Book Club Social at a date & time TBD after we return to school in September.

 We've got ebooks!
SHS has joined the MA Commonwealth eBook Collection program! More than 14,000 ebooks and 3,500 audiobooks are available, using the Sora app.

Hope you can join us!
Be sure to check out First Chapter Fridays, a new virtual group hosted by Mrs. O'Keefe and Ms. Bright! Listen to the first chapter of a great book, learn a bit about the author, and why we think you might enjoy that particular title. We can also help you to discover a new book to read based on your interests, and locate a print or digital copy! We miss our students during the summer, and hope you'll stop in to say hello & let us know how we can be of assistance with anything reading-related! Contact Mrs. O'Keefe for the Zoom link to our weekly meetings, each Friday from 1 to 2pm, from July 10 through August 21*! Enjoy your summer break, and happy reading! :-)
*Please note that we will not meet on Friday, August 7. Thanks very much for your patience!
