Reading for Change 2021 is a community summer reading program in which SHS students, faculty, and staff members, along with members of the greater Salem community, will read one of three selected antiracist books. A community-wide discussion about these books will take place when we return to school in September, providing all participants with the opportunity to learn about, grapple with, and discuss the history of racism and contemporary issues of race in America, anchored by this essential question:
How do we make a safe, welcoming,
and antiracist community for all?
